The Demon Hand (鬼ノ手, oni no te) is a device created by the Professor to help Slayers in battle. It has the ability to materialize human thoughts, offering many useful abilities.
Description[]
Toukiden 2 official website[1][]
A special device developed by the Professor that creates a physical manifestation of one's thoughts. It also refers to the giant Oni hand that emerges from the device. Attacks with the Demon Hand are powerful enough to destroy an Oni's body part without leaving a trace. The device is also able to interact with the environment and other spiritual elements on the map.
Toukiden 2 (in-game)[]
A device that gives thoughts physical form, and also the name given to the giant hand that it can be used to create. It was developed by someone who calls themselves "the Professor," and who lives in Mahoroba Village.
Moves[]
Note: All of these are triggered with the touch screen (PS Vita), (PS4) or the selected key (PC). By holding down the button, you can see the possible targets marked with a red circle.
- Oni Grapple (鬼絡, onigarami): Grab a piece of terrain or an Oni to pull yourself towards it. It can also be used in midair.
- Oni Eater (鬼喰, onigurai): Grab a Geopulse while on the ground to absorb it, then press to throw it or to affix its element to your weapon for a limited time.
- Oni Smash (鬼潰, onitsubushi): Grab out-of-place objects, such as spider webs or large rocks, to remove them from your way. Some of them may spawn large Oni when removed.
- Oni Throw (鬼返, onigaeshi): Grab an Oni that is charging to stop it and pull it down.
- Oni Burial (鬼葬, onihaburi): Can only be used when the Unity Gauge is full. When fighting a large Oni, hold down the button to see which of its body parts can be affected, which will be glowing white. Release the button while aiming at one of these to completely destroy it, limiting the Oni's attacks or even its movement. If you use it on a medium Oni or a non-glowing body part, or press after grabbing the Oni, you will perform a regular Destroyer instead.
Trivia[]
- By pressing / while aiming an Oni Grapple, you can lock on to a specific body part of an Oni. This can be useful for players who use shorter-ranged weapons.
- According to the Professor, Demon Hands will explode if removed forcefully. Since Homura and most of the Mahoroba Slayers had their Demon Hands removed by the Forbidden Forces, the latter presumably knew how to properly remove them thanks to Shiki and his knowledge of ancient technology.
