Hōjō Masako is a Space type Mitama introduced in Toukiden: The Age of Demons, changing to Deceit type in Toukiden 2.
Description[]
1157 - 1225
The wife of the Kamakura Shogunate's first shogun, Minamoto no Yoritomo, she was the eldest daughter of Hōjō Tokimasa, the head of a powerful family in Izu. She fell in love with Yoritomo while he was exiled in Izu after being defeated in the Heiji Rebellion. The Hōjō clan became staunch supporters of Yoritomo. While Yoritomo was in office, she was known as Midaidokoro. After his death, she became a nun and took the name Amamidai. Both of her sons, Yoriie and Sanetomo, became shogun and both were eventually assassinated. A successor was then chosen from the Kujō clan, one of the five regent houses. Because Masako actually held the real power, though, she was nicknamed the Nun Shogun. During the Jōkyū War, she preached the virtues of Yoritomo to his retainers, preventing them from defecting to the Imperial Court.
