Description[]
1442 - 1457
A character from the "Tale of Eight Dogs," set in the Kantō region during the late Muromachi period. A man besieged by his enemies promised his dog, Yatsufusa, the hand of his daughter, Princess Fuse, if he brings back the head of the enemy general. Yatsufusa succeeds and, though her father tries to renege on his promise, Fuse agrees to honor the marriage and goes to live in the mountains with Yatsufusa. She later becomes pregnant with eight children. In order to prove that the children are not dogs, she cuts open her belly and eight spheres containing the children's spirits fly away, scattering across the land.
