The protagonist (プレイヤー キャラクター, pureiyā kyarakutā; translates to "player character") is the main character of Toukiden: The Age of Demons and Toukiden: Kiwami, with most of their features such as gender, voice and weapon of choice depending on the player's choice. They start as a new Slayer recruit for Utakata Village, but eventually become stronger and gain the trust of villagers and other Slayers.
Appearance[]
The protagonist does not have an official or "canonical" appearance, as many of their features can be customized by the player. They are usually portrayed in promotional art and screenshots as a white-skinned young man or woman, wielding an Oni Slicer and wearing either Regulation or Officer armor. They also seem to have brown hair tied into a ponytail, although the Regulation Helm covers it completely.
Personality[]
The protagonist does not speak outside of some dialogue choices, making most of their personality left up for the player to decide. However, they are shown to care for their allies and risk their own life to protect them.
Trivia[]
- The protagonist's "underwear" has its own defense and weight values: 2/1/1 and 5/2/3 for the torso, arms and legs respectively.
- It is unknown if the protagonist has received proper Slayer training, as they didn't know about the Holy Mount or other Slayer villages at the start of the game.
