Pyrogrinders are the fifteenth large Oni introduced in Toukiden: The Age of Demons, first appearing in the Age of Chaos and being the variant of Terragrinders.

| An Oni that resides in a sea of lava deep beneath the earth's surface, they give off flames when they attack. One theory states that Terraginders venture deep into the earth after they reach a certain age, and once there, the weaker ones are killed off while the stronger ones are reborn as Pyrogrinders. There is no evidence for this, however. 大地の内奥、溶岩の海に潜るという"鬼"。外殻の隙間に溶岩を蔵しており、攻撃のたびに炎が弾ける。 一説に、ツチカヅキは年を経ると溶岩の海に向かうという。 そこで、力なきものは解け消え、力あるものはホムラカヅキに生まれ変わるらしい。 あくまで俗説であり根拠はない。[1] | |||
Appearance[]
Pyrogrinders looks mostly like Terragrinders, but with changes in their color scheme. Their skin is gray and their shell is amber-yellow, fading into brown on the lower part of their fins and their feet. Their teeth have a yellow tint and their tongue is bright red.
