Sakuma Shōzan is a Plunder type Mitama introduced in Toukiden 2.
Description[]
1811 - 1864
A scholar from the end of the Edo period. He was a member of the Matsushiro domain. When his lord Sanada Yukitsura was appointed to a position of costal defense, Sakuma Shōzan learned all he could about the west in an extremely short period of time, becoming a western scholar representative of the times in which he lived. He set up a private school that taught many influential people, including Yoshida Shōin, Katsu Kaishū and Sakamoto Ryōma, and he even married Katsu Kaishü's sister. His downfall came when he aided in Yoshida Shōin's failed attempt to stow away on the Black Ships. He was later invited to the capital by Tokugawa Yoshinobu, where he advocated the opening of the country and a planned move of the seat of power, but was then killed by an assassin who believed in maintenance of the closed Japan
