"Beyond the deadly battlefields, will victory belong to humanity, or to the demons? Slayers, unite and destroy the perfidious Oni!"
—Quote from the official website.
Toukiden: Kiwami (討鬼伝 極, Tōkiden Kiwami; roughly translated as "Legend of the Demon Slayers Extreme") is an action role-playing video game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, and the sequel/expansion of Toukiden: The Age of Demons. Its development has been implied since the first game has been sold to the Japanese public.[2]
The Sōma and Reki costumes could be obtained for free by pre-ordering the first print. Various Japanese outlets offered specific reservation bonuses. Consumers who purchase from Gamecity Shopping receive a Tenko pin badge. The Gamecity Set adds a comprehensive illustration book for the characters and Oni and a Snowflame washcloth.
New content
- 3 new weapon types: club, naginata and rifle;
- 2 new Mitama types: Support and Plunder - one focused on assisting your allies and the other on destroying large Oni's body parts;
- An overhaul to the Tenko system: you can feed her to improve her mood and change her color and voice, equip her Tenko with costumes and Mitama and even meet her while you're on a mission. She can also perform the Ritual of Purification and activate a random Skill if she has a Mitama equipped;
- After becoming a unit leader, you can send a Secondary Unit of Slayers in a mission you have already completed to bring you materials. The type of materials you receive may differ depending on the Slayer you choose as unit leader;
- When a character reaches the "Soulmate" bond level, you can directly invite them to bathe with you in the Pool of Purity. You can also enter it by paying a fee of 800 and dedicate a Mitama to your bath to receive a boost from it;
- The DLC missions from Toukiden: The Age of Demons are included for free as Special Missions;
- Infinite Missions and Special Investigations where you can battle multiple large Oni in a row, earn valuable materials and obtain Mitama from all Ages;
- Emergency Missions where you will face a random Oni. A particularly rare Oni can appear in these missions;
- 24 new large Oni, some being "upgraded" versions of previous Oni, but not the same as variants;
- An expanded story with 6 more chapters and new characters;
- 14 new battlefields such as the Village Surrounds and the Infinite Inner Chambers;
- Ultimate difficulty missions, unlocked in Chapter 13 and Phase 13.

Trivia
- The word "Kiwami" means "extreme" or "ultimate" in Japanese. Certain features introduced in this game such as Ultimate difficulty, the Ultimate level for Mitama and the United Destroyer have "Kiwami" on their Japanese names.
- Unlike in Monster Hunter expansions, where most of the new content and monsters only appear in G-Rank/Master Rank (a difficulty added in the expansion itself), most of the new Oni in Toukiden: Kiwami were added to the already existing Expert difficulty. Ultimate difficulty is only for post-game content and online missions, just like Expert difficulty in the previous game;
- After the first mission, the player will be able to claim one of each type of soul steel as well four DLC armor sets (two for each gender). They are likely meant to be used by players who want to reach the Kiwami section more quickly.
- The PS4 and Steam versions are the only ones that do not have a Treasure Box version, despite being the most accessible ones to players.
